Not to be too cliche,  but what a long strange year it’s been! 

 

As I write this, we are at (hopefully) the end of the omicron spike. As we all have learned over the last two years, the situation is constantly changing. Every time this past year I’ve thought that things had calmed down and I could update with new guidelines, along comes something else. Case in point, a few days after starting to write this, I caught a cold, and then a week later after thinking I had figured out I wanted to say and had it written up, mask mandates were lifted and I needed to reconsider. 

 

Good news, I am fully vaccinated, two doses and a booster done Dec 27, 2021.  I’m willing to show my card if any client would like to see and verify. I have been using a HEPA and UV-C air purifier since I reopened to improve ventilation in my massage room and will continue.

 

Currently masks for clients are optional. As long as I can get N95 or equivalent masks, if I think masking is appropriate, it is more comfortable for me to mask than to ask a client face down on the massage table to mask. 

 

I mask any time a client chooses to mask or on request. I genuinely don’t mind if clients request I mask. I completely understand people having individual circumstances that make them need to be more careful than average. My main priority is helping everyone stay healthy. 

 

To that end, I am checking vaccine status. There are increased safety measures I want to take with an unvaccinated client to protect us both. Depending on the level of community spread at the time, these increased measures can include; me masking, turning the air purifier on high, and/or increased surface cleaning pre and post massage. 

 

When local mask mandates are in effect, I will follow them. As the situation changes, I may some time in the future ask for clients to mask.
